I read once where someone in the publishing business said, "poetry doesn't sell." I've had enough trouble trying to sell short fiction, enough trouble trying to give it away to various journals. Some book printers were wanting my poetry in order for me to buy the $35.00 book of poems, so that I could read my one piece in it. I never took the bait on that one, though.
