Commemorative Historical Society
The Commemorative Historical Society (CHS) is a non-profit public benefit educational society established in 1993, based in San Francisco Bay Area. The CHS is a Department of Defense designated World War Two Commemorative Community. The organization formally exists for the purpose of instruction and recreation of the life and time of the period 1939 - 1946. We are a non-political organization that participates in public displys, parades, honor guards, and living history events. Our goal is to educate the public about the importance of honoring those who contributed so much to our nation and our freedoms during WW II, preserving artifacts of the era, and to sponser the growth and development of living history.

Civil War Reenactment Society
The CWRS is central California's main reenactment organization. They portray both Union and Confederate brigades, infantry and artillery, period medical impressions at reenactments all over California. They also do school education events and memorial events, and parades. Unit histories and leaders are profiled on this site and how to join.
