Author Bio

Tim was born and raised in Madera, California, the first son of grain farmer Jack Desmond and homemaker mom Nelle. He graduated Madera Union High School in 1964 and attended, on scholarship, California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA. He worked various jobs and attended Fresno City College off and on for five years. Then in 1970 completed 60 units at FCC and transferred to Fresno State College, Graduating from California State University Fresno on January 25, 1974 with a Bachelor if Arts degree in Zoology. He continued as a post grad at CSU Fresno in the Department of Education, earning his Teaching Credential in June 1975. Madera Unified Scchool District hired him to teach science at Thomas Jefferson Jr. High. In 1985 he accepted an offer to teach biology, chemistry and physics at Firebaugh High School. He is currently teaching chemistry at Firebaugh High. The teaching for 31 + years is one thing. The writing and art career is another thing.

1965 published poem in Fresno City College POTPOURI. 1965 - 1971 wrote unpubished short stories. 1973 Wrote PYRAMID EFFECTS on BACTERIA Independent Study Paper, California State University Fresno. 1978 Wrote two curriculum texts for Madera Unified School District on Astronomy and Physical Science. 1979 wrote screenplay for educational film called Madera County: Land of Varied Resources. 1983 Completed a first novel [unpublished] WORLD WAR IV. 1984 - 1990 Wrote more unpublished short stories. 1990 - 1992 Edited and wrote for CHALK and SLATE, Firebaugh Teachers Association newsletter. 1992 - 1999 Wrote unpublished short story collection. 2000 Wrote unsold but registered with Screenwriters Guild the screenplay CONTROL THESIS. 2003 - 2007 Wrote articles and column on Civil War Medicine for CA Division of SOns Of Confederate Veterans Newsletter. Also wrote aand published CW poetry for SCV CA Division. 2004 Finished and published novel FOR THOU ART WITH ME. 2006 Working on novel CONTROL THESIS.
